ABOUT US - VISION, MISSION, PHILOSOPHY & CORE VALUES

Our Vision: We envision local communities of women leading the change to eliminate homelessness in their neighborhoods.

Our Mission: to empower women and children to overcome cycles of domestic crisis, poverty, and homelessness through comprehensive programs and services that promote healing, wholeness, and life.

Our Philosophy - SFPI believes in the dignity, beauty, and power of womanhood. Every woman deserves the opportunity to live in a safe, clean space, be self-sufficient, and thrive from a healthy body, soul, and spirit.

Our lens is culturally competent, relevant and responsive towards prevention and intervention solutions that remove pathways leading to homelessness.

Our Core Values:

Respect, Educational Legacy &

Friendship & Community

*Respect - We believe each woman has her own uniqueness, beauty and life-purpose. We respect her journey and aim to aid her with truth, compassion, and sisterhood.

*Educational Legacy - We reflect upon centuries of trailblazers who laid the groundwork for countless opportunities that women have today. In honor of our forbearers, as well as those women of today, we celebrate education and training as a way to grow in knowledge and skill and commit to passing the torch of lessons learned academically, professionally and spiritually for the continuity of the next generation.

*Friendship & Community - We consent to the saying “no man is an island to himself” John Donne (1572-1631). Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “two are better than one for they have a good report for their labor”. SPFI aims to strengthen community by forging healthy friendship and alliances that remove social loneliness, shame and other barriers linked with the hardships of homelessness. “No one ever-ever has to do life alone” (ttm, 2013).
