OUR HEALTH IS OUR WEALTH!

Hello Sisters!

Did you know that the

Centers for Disease Control reported data from 2011-2013 - that around 7.6 % of black women have heart disease, (compared to 5.8 % of white women and 5.6 % of Mexican-American women) and around 46 of every 100,000 black women died from strokes, (while 35 of every 100,000 white women died)....and while white women's diabetes diagnosis rate is 5.4 per 100, that number is higher for black women (9.9 per 100).

So,  Black Woman... why?  ...and a better question would be: WHAT can we do to change those stats?  Is it just poor diet choices, no exercise and/or a lack of education about our own health.??  I venture to say "it's a little bit of it all".   Well, if you are like me, then we need to be honest with ourselves, get rid of the excuses and ask God to forgive us for bad stewardship of our bodies and our health. Ouch!!!!!

Now, here's the good news: God is merciful and gives us power,

even creative power

to take control of our lives and be intentional about good health for ourselves and our communities .

OUR HEALTH IS OUR WEALTH!

Deut 8:18 says: but you shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is He that gives you power (capacity, ability,) to get wealth (success, prosperity, abundance) that He may establish His covenant which He swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.

You and I have the power to change our future health outcomes and it starts today by making  one decision at a time.  You've heard the old saying "Rome wasn't built in a day"... well change may take a few tries... but we can't stop moving in the direction of change - especially for our health and wellness.

CALL TO ACTION:

I am making a fresh new commitment to myself and to you... I will make better healthy food choices, be intentional with including leafy greens and fresh fruits to my daily diet, drink more water to cleanse and hydrate my body, excercise at least 20 minutes a day, and especially spend time in prayer and worship daily,.  Then at the end of the day cast all my cares to our Heavenly Father, in Jesus name - and go to sleep.

Will you join me???

Chime in.......
